Welcome

Welcome to my blog, SCRIBBLING TO (IN)SANITY! First time here? I'm a romance writer who wants to believe most problems can be solved over coffee, a mixed drink or by anything covered in chocolate. I'm a believer in second chances and that it's always the right time to fall in love. As the saying goes, you're a guest in my house only once...then you're family. So I invite you to join the fun! I love comments but it's okay to lurk too - just know I'm glad you've found me and I hope you visit me again soon!

Monday Minute - Fresh Start

Photobucket     Sometimes a quick decision is years in the making.

I've been blogging a long time - maybe close to 5 or 6 years (that's a lot of blogging!) In that time, I've gone through several platforms and too many designs to count. I've also been doing my own website (with some graphics help for headers along the way.)

Over the past year I've been realizing more and more that I just don't want to spend the time on that end any more. For me, it's a great way to procrastinate - change my webdesign, the color scheme, etc. (too much procrastination and playing with html = not enough writing or cleaning or feeding my family!)

This past week, I finally took the plunge and contacted the designer of some romance author websites I've been admiring for years. Yes, I've contacted her before - three years ago. I didn't take the leap all those years ago because I wasn't ready to give up control (a problem I have with a lot of things in life! LOL) Three years later, her policy hasn't changed - but I have.

Even though I'm not scheduled to have my site done until July (she's got a waiting list...given the quality of her sites, I fully expected that!) she's already answered many of my questions and we've spoken on the phone about an important aspect of what I've signed on for: Branding.

I want my website and my blog to reflect ME - what I write, who I am and what I want YOU, the readers, to feel when you visit me. I want a solid theme.

My new designer doesn't work with wordpress, and prefers Blogger. If I want a continuous click-though theme, I had to make the switch to blogger...Oh My! There are several reasons she's gone this route (and to be honest, after my wordpress was hacked several months ago and caused so much trouble for me - I even had to switch hosts to iron everything out - I'm ready for a change.)

So...here I am.

In just a few minutes last week, I made the decision I've been thinking about for years.

Welcome to the beginning of a new blog. Fresh, clean and open to all kinds of possibilities! I hope you'll come by and visit me to dish the dirt about coffee, chocolate and writing romantic fiction - and if you like what you read and follow me - consider yourself hugged!

Happy Monday!
