Welcome

Welcome to my blog, SCRIBBLING TO (IN)SANITY! First time here? I'm a romance writer who wants to believe most problems can be solved over coffee, a mixed drink or by anything covered in chocolate. I'm a believer in second chances and that it's always the right time to fall in love. As the saying goes, you're a guest in my house only once...then you're family. So I invite you to join the fun! I love comments but it's okay to lurk too - just know I'm glad you've found me and I hope you visit me again soon!

Word Wednesday - Bolster

This week finds my house in the midst of Regents testing season for my youngest...this year it's the algebra regents and it's been particularly grueling.

This year there isn't just one test...NO...because of the Common Core (or the Common Clueless as we refer to the new educational program NY state is pushing on us) our kids have the fun of taking TWO tests. Twice the stress.

So, in my house there is lots of bolstering the spirits going on. Kinds words of support and lots of ice cream and cookies are being offered to bolster the youngest in her moments of anxiety.

Bolster: v. to prop up, support

What's your favorite way to bolster your household morale?

Word Wednesday: Abolish

Today I'm starting a new blog feature for Wednesday...Word Wednesday.

So, today I'm starting at the beginning of the alphabet with the word

ABOLISH

v. to do away with

Over the past few months I've become more aware of my inner stress and emotions. I was introduced the art of mediation by another writing friend of mine and I can't tell you the difference it's made in my life.

I feel calm and more focused.

I'm learning how to ABOLISH negative thoughts and stress, the natural way - and it's been freeing.

Today I hope you read the word and think of a way to apply it to your life this week...what can you abolish to make your life just a little bit better?

And now it's time for me to abolish thoughts of procrastination and hit the WIP!

See ya later gators :)
