This is our first time hosting a blog hop and we are so thrilled with the participation! We started SSLY in 2013, so what better way to kick off the New Year then with a new adventure! We have almost 50 participating blogs, some giving away some awesome prizes. Please visit everyone and meet these wonderful women and men. They are terrific and you may find a new "favorite" author among them!
What am I looking forward to in 2014?
2014 will see the continuation of my small town contemporary holiday novella series set in Starlight Hills. My time travel series is just about ready to break free too, and I'm really excited about finally being in control of where it will lead me.
I'm looking forward to being better organized (a goal I set every year, but this year I have high hopes for actually accomplishing this!) I've got a new planner ready to go. I admit the geeky side of my is having a ball decorating my new pages....let's hope that translates into a successful system for me :)
2014 is the year I do something just for me, something to get in better shape and get me away from the computer. So, I've signed up for fencing lessons! The family is a little nervous about me swishing around a weapon, but I have been assured I will be well padded and there is no real danger involved...I will be sure to post pictures!
I'm hoping to eat a little healthier (no, that doesn't mean I'm cutting back on the chocolate *gasp*) I hope to be a little focused, spend more quality time with the family (because the kids aren't getting any younger and one day I'm going to wake up to find they've flown the coop.) And...I plan to spread more cheer, more good vibes and good wishes and squash negativity in its path. There is just no room for destructive negative thoughts in my life.
As I do ever year, I pick a quote that will be my mantra for the coming months, and this year I have chosen the following:
You will never be BRAVE if you don't get hurt
You will never LEARN if you don't make mistakes
You will never be SUCCESSFUL if you don't encounter failure.
This year I strive to be brave, to learn and to be successful!
How about you, what are you looking forward to in 2014?

DeleteDebora, what a worthwhile mantra. After a sad 2013, my keyword this year is gratitude. After reading your post, I'm going to look for an action quote that describes it. Here's to meeting all our writing, publishing, and promotional goals this year. 2014 blessings to you and yours.

Thank you for organizing the hop! Yes - I'm trying to get better organized. Also - I'm leaving my comments for the folks at the end. They never get as much attention as those at the top.
ReplyDeleteMay all your dreams be fulfilled! Love meeting new authors! Happy new year!
