Welcome

Welcome to my blog, SCRIBBLING TO (IN)SANITY! First time here? I'm a romance writer who wants to believe most problems can be solved over coffee, a mixed drink or by anything covered in chocolate. I'm a believer in second chances and that it's always the right time to fall in love. As the saying goes, you're a guest in my house only once...then you're family. So I invite you to join the fun! I love comments but it's okay to lurk too - just know I'm glad you've found me and I hope you visit me again soon!

Pets and Writing

Let's just start this post with my admission to having a huge soft spot for anything with fur, feathers or gills. Yes, I am a pet lover. There are more animals in my house than humans...and I kinda like it that way!

If you come to my house you must be prepared to be greeted by my two friendly cats, my hyper puppy and you'll probably be cursed out by my sulfur-crested cockatoo! The lizard and the fish won't bother you, so just ignore them.

But, I love them all and after a hard day at the day job when I sit down write, it's a wonderful feeling when one of the cats curls up in my lap...like Rocky over here!

Or when my little YorkiPoo Toby sits at my feet.

They listen to my keyboard and sleep. The don't comment as I run dialogue out loud or if I complain...

Sweet faces, quiet and attentive love (unless they're hungry!) who could ask for a better writing companion?

Tell me about your favorite fur-covered writing buddy!

  1. I'm the exact same way, Deb. I love having my cats around me when I write. I actually have a huge cat tower in front of my office window so they can hang around right next to me since they're not lap cats. One of my cats will perch on my desk and watch me type; the other at my feet. Great foot warmer during those winter months LOL.

  2. I'm with you on this one! Keegan (the male cat, he looks a lot like Rocky) is asleep on the desk as I type this and Lucy is asleep at my feet. They really are great company.
